Design and project management of replacement bearings for a centrifugal compressor onboard the Louis St Laurent, an ice-breaking ship operating from Canada.
Howden Process Compressors were tasked with providing replacement bearings and seals for this Compair Reavell centrifugal compressor.
Original compressor bearings were made by Advanced Bearing Technologies, long since out of business. Using the operating data and compressor drawings, my job was to produce bearing calculations and detailed 3d models for the bearing specialist Osborne Engineering to manufacture new bearings.
